At least 25 people have died and 65 others are injured after two trains collided in Alexandria, northern Egypt.

One train was travelling from Cairo and the other from Port Said at the time of the head-on collision, local media report.

Dr Abu Homs, head of the city’s ambulance services, said he fears the death toll and number of injured could rise further.
