Dayton, OH | New Delhi — May 2025 Renowned hematologist and oncologist Dr. Satheesh Kathula, based in Dayton, Ohio, and current President of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), was recently conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award in Global Healthcare by the prestigious Global Healthcare Leaders Foundation (GHLF) — a Harvard University–affiliated nonprofit dedicated to solving the world’s most urgent health challenges through innovation and collaboration. A proud alumnus of the Global Healthcare Leaders Program at Harvard, Dr. Kathula has emerged as a visionary in global medicine, combining evidence-based cancer care with an unshakable commitment to public health service. Since taking office as AAPI President in July 2024, he has led three major international healthcare summits in India, elevating conversations on lifestyle medicine, oncology, and equitable access to care. He also launched the transformative “Stop 3 and Start 3” campaign — a powerful initiative advocating for cancer prevention through lifestyle modifications and HPV vaccination. Under his leadership, AAPI forged a strategic alliance with GAIMS (Global Association of Indian Medical Students) to combat cervical cancer through nationwide screening and immunization programs. Dr. Kathula’s achievements transcend borders. From raising $5.5 million for COVID-19 relief in India to providing clean drinking water, free medical camps, and health education in rural communities, his humanitarian reach is as wide as his clinical expertise is deep. In a heartfelt note, Dr. Kathula dedicated this honor to “the unsung doctors, students, volunteers, and donors who believe healthcare is a human right, not a privilege.” This award reaffirms what his colleagues, patients, and peers have long known — that Dr. Satheesh Kathula is not just a healer of disease, but a builder of hope.

In its one decade of operations, Vistara made a mark for its product and service quality as India’s foremost full-service carrier, setting itself apart in a market dominated by no-frills airlines. The airline will fly its final flight on Monday before its merges with Tata group’s flagship carrier Air India on Tuesday. It would not be an understatement to say that Vistara was able to carve a unique space for itself in the mind of the Indian flyer, which is evident from flyers’ reactions on social media, many brimming with nostalgia. The wheels for the merger were set in motion in 2022 after the tata group acquired Air India from the government. Singapore Airlines, which held a 49 per cent stake in Vistara, will own 25.1 per cent of Air India following the merger.
