Committees comprising Endowments Department officials and Tahsildars will conduct a detailed study and submit a report within 45 days. Based on the report and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s guidance, the government aims to provide a lasting solution to these long-pending land concerns. During the Group of Ministers (GoM) meeting on Revenue Reforms held at the Secretariat in Velagapudi, Ministers Anagani Satyaprasad, P. Narayana, P. Keshav, and NMD Farooq discussed land allocation and policy frameworks. Minister Satyaprasad stated that a comprehensive land allocation policy will be introduced soon to ensure transparency in industrial and public land allotments. He also noted discussions on simplifying procedures for pre-hold and Waqf lands. Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana revealed that the previous TDP government had initiated the construction of 7 lakh TIDCO houses, with administrative approval for 5 lakh units. Despite Supreme Court restrictions, the government plans to seek the Advocate General’s opinion to overcome legal hurdles and proceed with the allotment and construction of houses for journalists.

Amaravati, October 17: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to conduct a comprehensive study on the state’s mineral wealth and develop a value-addition plan to increase revenue. During a review meeting on the Mines Department and Free Sand Policy, Naidu emphasized that value addition is key to maximizing state income, similar to models adopted by states like Odisha, which earns over ₹50,000 crore annually from minerals. Andhra Pradesh, he said, could generate an additional ₹20,000–₹30,000 crore through a clear vision plan. The Mines Department informed that it has targeted ₹3,320 crore revenue for FY 2025–26, marking a 34% rise from the previous year. Major minerals like manganese contribute over 72% of this income. The Chief Minister instructed that pending 6,500 mining applications be cleared promptly and called for satellite and drone-based monitoring of mining operations to track permits, extractions, and compliance in real-time. Highlighting social equity, Naidu ordered the formulation of a special mining lease policy for the Vaddera community, proposing 15% reservation in mining allocations for Vadderas and related societies. He directed officials to offer 50% concession on seigniorage and premium fees, enabling the community to grow as MSMEs linked to the mining sector. Naidu stressed that this initiative should ensure economic empowerment of backward classes through sustainable resource use. On the free sand policy, the Chief Minister reaffirmed that its benefits must reach the common people directly. He instructed strict enforcement to prevent misuse and ensure transparent sand supply. Officials reported that 66.5 lakh metric tonnes of sand had been stockpiled, with 43 lakh metric tonnes currently available across stock points. Naidu ordered regular inspections, minimal transportation costs, and tighter CCTV surveillance at interstate routes to ensure accountability.

Kakinada, October 10: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan announced a 100-day roadmap to address the key issues faced by the state’s fishermen. Speaking at an interaction program with fishermen at the Kakinada Collectorate, he said the government is determined to find practical and lasting solutions rather than temporary fixes. “We will identify and initiate primary solutions to all major problems raised by fishermen within the next 100 days,” he said. Addressing the growing coastal erosion in Uppada, Pawan Kalyan revealed that steps are being taken to construct a coastal protection wall within the next two to three years at an estimated cost of ₹300 crore. The Union Home Ministry has responded positively to the state’s request for assistance. Meanwhile, a temporary protection system worth ₹6 crore is being set up to safeguard vulnerable coastal areas. He emphasized that this project will act as a protective shield for the coast for the next 50 years once completed. Highlighting environmental concerns, Pawan Kalyan announced that a special committee will conduct pollution audits of industrial units affecting coastal waters, with reports expected within a week. He clarified that the audits are not meant to intimidate industries but to understand the severity and sources of marine pollution. “We will soon inspect the coastal waters ourselves to assess pollution levels directly,” he said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to a ‘Clean and Green Andhra Pradesh’ vision under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership. The Deputy CM also ordered the formation of an expert committee with IIT Chennai to correct design flaws in the fishing harbor, which have caused damage to boats and nets. During the meeting, insurance cheques worth ₹5 lakh each were distributed to 18 families of fishermen who died at sea, including those pending from the previous government. “This government works beyond party lines, ensuring transparency and justice for all communities,” he asserted.
