During a short discussion in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu presented a detailed PowerPoint explaining the alleged adulterated ghee supply to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) between 2019 and 2024. He stated that tender norms were modified, quality standards were allegedly diluted, and complaints regarding ghee quality were ignored despite laboratory findings. Referring to reports from the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), the Chief Minister said laboratory analysis indicated the presence of animal fat. He alleged that large quantities of ghee were procured at significant public expense and used in laddu preparation, impacting quality and raising concerns over oversight mechanisms. The Chief Minister further stated that after his government assumed office, corrective steps were initiated, including fresh sample testing and administrative restructuring within TTD. He noted that the matter reached the Supreme Court of India, which directed that the investigation be conducted under the supervision of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to ensure neutrality. He emphasized that action would be taken against officials found responsible and that reforms were underway to strengthen transparency, restore quality control systems, and safeguard the sanctity of temple administration.
