At a large self-respect meeting organized by Telangana Jagruthi at RTC Kalyana Mandapam in Bagh Lingampally, Hyderabad, Kalvakuntla Kavitha strongly criticized both previous and current state governments for failing to deliver justice to Telangana movement activists and martyrs’ families. She said that despite the formation of Telangana, many activists did not receive the recognition, economic growth, or political opportunities they had hoped for. Without directly attacking K. Chandrashekar Rao, she questioned what had been achieved during the ten years in power. She also criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, alleging a lack of movement spirit and warning that unfulfilled promises to activists would lead to strong public resistance. Kavitha announced plans to launch a new political party that would not be just another electoral platform but one aimed at protecting Telangana’s identity and prioritizing activists’ welfare. She demanded formal recognition of movement activists, creation of a welfare board, budgetary provisions for their development, and 20% reservation for local youth in private sector jobs. Referring to historical struggles and figures like Komaram Bheem and Chakali Ilamma, she emphasized that Telangana has always been a land of resistance and sacrifice. She stated that Telangana Jagruthi would continue its fight for justice, dignity, and rightful benefits for activists and their families.

Kavitha Vows Week-long Fight Over Group-1 Irregularities

Hyderabad, October 10: Telangana Jagruthi President Kalvakuntla Kavitha announced a week-long protest movement demanding justice for aspirants affected by alleged irregularities in the TSPSC Group-1 recruitment process. Speaking at a round-table meeting organized by Telangana Jagruthi at Somajiguda Press Club, Kavitha said the movement would begin with a ‘Vantavarpu’ (community cooking) program at Ashoknagar on Friday. Expressing deep concern, Kavitha said, “Even after achieving Telangana, our youth are still struggling for justice. I’m looking at the Group-1 issue as a mother, not just a politician.” She emphasized that former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had done everything possible for students during the first decade of Telangana, but the current government’s handling of recruitment exams has deeply disappointed the youth. She urged students to stay focused on their studies while promising, “We will fight on your behalf until justice is served.” Kavitha announced five key resolutions passed during the meeting: the cancellation and re-conduction of Group-1 prelims and mains exams; ensuring implementation of the promised job calendar; filling two lakh government vacancies; a complete overhaul of the TSPSC; and revocation of G.O. 29, which she said undermines reservation policies. These resolutions will be formally sent to the Governor and Chief Minister. Condemning mainstream media’s silence on the issue, Kavitha urged journalists to amplify the voice of the unemployed. “Our legal team of 50 lawyers is ready to fight this battle in court if needed,” she added, stressing that the Telangana Jagruthi movement will extend protests to districts and villages across the state to ensure justice for students and unemployed youth.
