At the Telangana–North East Connect Sports Festival, a special panel discussion titled “Spirit of the Games – Connecting Telangana and North East” was held today, bringing together leading sportspersons, officials, and representatives from sports associations across Telangana and the Northeastern states. Mizoram’s Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Lalnghinglova Hmar, spoke on “Mizoram – Future Sports Powerhouse,” highlighting the immense sporting potential of the region. Telangana’s Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan outlined the state’s initiatives for sports development, while badminton legend Pullela Gopichand shared insights on talent grooming at his academy. Padma Shri and football icon Bhaichung Bhutia emphasized public participation and sports governance, and Padma Shri weightlifting champion Mirabai Chanu discussed challenges faced by women athletes and proposed solutions. Arjuna Award–winning boxer L. Sarita Devi spoke about the pivotal role of coaches in shaping athletes, while Tripura’s Arjuna Awardee Mantu Debnath stressed the importance of academies in nurturing gymnasts. Sports journalist Indranil Das highlighted the transformative social impact of sports in the Northeastern region, with veteran Manipur journalist Pradip Phanjoubam moderating the discussion. Speakers collectively emphasized the vast opportunities for collaboration between Telangana and the Northeastern states in the sports sector. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sony Baladevi, Managing Director, Sports Authority of Telangana, and was attended by several Arjuna and Dronacharya Awardees, sports federation representatives, coaches, and officials.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated that the government is fully committed to spreading the ideals and teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba among the people. He recalled that the government has already issued official orders to conduct the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Centenary Celebrations on a grand scale. The Chief Minister participated in the centenary event at Puttaparthi’s Hill View Stadium, alongside India’s Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Tripura Governor Nallu Indrasena Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Minister Lokesh. Speaking on the occasion, he described it as an honor to take part in the celebrations of a divine personality who served humanity selflessly. Revanth Reddy highlighted that Sai Baba saw divinity in humanity and conquered hearts through love and service. He praised Baba’s unparalleled contributions in education, healthcare, and drinking water projects, often surpassing what governments could accomplish. From providing free education from KG to PG, to delivering large-scale drinking water projects in drought-hit regions like Palamuru and Anantapur, Sai Baba uplifted countless lives. Today, with devotees across 140 countries, his global presence and influence remain strong. The Chief Minister assured that the Telangana government will extend full cooperation to propagate Sai Baba’s vision, and later visited the Mahasamadhi at Sai Kulwant Hall.

The Telangana State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic bus accident between Makkah and Madinah in Saudi Arabia that claimed several lives. The government has decided to provide an ex-gratia of ₹5 lakh to each bereaved family, extending heartfelt condolences to the victims' kin. The Cabinet also resolved to send a government delegation to Saudi Arabia, headed by Minister Mohammed Azharuddin, along with an MIM MLA and an official from the Minority Welfare Department. As the first vahana of the Brahmotsavams, the Chinna Sesha Vahanam signifies the cosmic serpent on whom the universe rests, symbolizing protection and spiritual elevation. Devotees believe that the darshan of the Goddess on this sacred vahanam grants Yoga Siddhi and uplifts all living beings. During the procession, Sri Padmavathi Devi appeared as the universal mother safeguarding creation, bringing auspiciousness and wellbeing to her devotees.
